How to make it through your kids’ Spring break
Stressed about what to do during your child’s Spring Break? Well, James Madison Montpelier has an excellent solution for you.
It’s “We, The Kids Day” a free event taking place on April 5, 2024, devoted to children and families where they can dive deeper into American history through exploring the residence of President James Madison.
Fun-filled activities have been specially created with young adventurers in mind. Put your curator skills to the test and mystery-solve special artifacts needing to be cataloged. Unlock your inner detective and uncover artifacts on display with staff in a game of “I-Spy.” Exercise the constitutional right to vote and place a ballot for your favorite artifact in a mock voting booth. Don’t miss out on wood walks, podcasting for kids, and exploring the Sheriff’s Department fire safety trailer and ambulance.
The fun of discovery continues at the Historic Preservation Station highlighting the unique tools used to preserve the Montpelier buildings. And, of course, a visit to the home of the Father of the Constitution and Architect of the Bill of Rights wouldn’t be complete without an opportunity to meet and interact with President Madison himself!
Transform your child’s Spring Break to one that is high-spirited, sparks their learning interests, and is wildly entertaining.
